Althea Finch – The PainFree Method
Please tell us a little bit about you and your business:
I help people with chronic or long-term back pain to be pain-free in as little as 90-days, without medications or operations.
Tell us why you do what you do:
I love to help people with chronic, debilitating conditions to realise that they really can be pain-free and that they can do it themselves. Often by the time my clients find me they have lost all hope, and there have been instances when they were feeling suicidal. To see them turn this around and start living their lives again is why I do my work. I want my process to become a go-to method that anyone can do for any pain condition, from simple niggles to serious conditions. That’s my big dream.
When did you do the Get More Clients Saying Yes! course?
Where was your business at and how were you feeling about it before you did the course?
I had lots of passion, but no clients at all! I knew I wanted my business to be online so that I could share my work with many. I did already have a website, and I was doing many, very long discovery calls – but I had no clients.
I realised that I didn’t know how to sell my service. I thought I had to go into detail to explain what it was and how it worked so that people would be interested. All of my potential clients thought I was very nice, but none of them turned into paying clients!
What was your biggest success or breakthrough as a result of doing the course?
While I was doing the course I signed up my first 121 client ever! I made £675 in week 5 of the course. I was thrilled! I’d never earned that much before, and it felt amazing to be getting paid for what I loved doing. Not long after finishing the course, I made my biggest sale yet (at that time) of £1,800.
What has been the impact on your business in the time since you took the course?
Before selling my own services, I used to work in a clinic, working away for 8 hours each day, earning a max of £200. I was exhausted. I was a single mum and on benefits at the time and the course payment was a stretch, the only money I had. Building a business has been a process of learning with lots of ups and downs, but I slowly started to bring it all together. And now, I earn £3,000 from one client! I fund my and my two children’s lives on the proceeds of my business, doing what I love. I feel very proud of how far I’ve come. And it all started with Catherine’s course.
What has been your biggest success in your business to date?
Earning £12,000 in one month.
How did what you learned in the course support you in achieving this success?
The course taught me how to speak with potential clients effectively without being pushy, and that was a great switch that made sales calls feel much more comfortable and enjoyable.
I learned how to accept the result of those calls, and deal with the conversations whether it was a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’. This change meant that the pressure was taken off both the client and me and the conversations flowed.
Learning how to sell in this way was THE most important foundation that supported me in having this sort of success in my business. What I’ve learned from Catherine has been so valuable that I’m still in her business community all these years later.
What 3 tips would you give to other business owners who are struggling with sales?
1. Be patient and understand that it takes time to learn the ropes of business.
2. Get support along the way, especially with the things that don’t come naturally and easily – for me this was sales.
3. Stay focused on your goals.
