Selling From The Heart: How To Sell Without Being Pushy – with Catherine Watkin

In this inspiring talk, Catherine will explore just why it is that so many heart-centred business owners get stuck when it comes to selling their services. Instead of finding the whole idea of sales awkward and “icky”, she’s offering a new way of thinking about sales – and the possibility of excitement about your next sales encounter. She’ll be sharing valuable advice that you can implement immediately – in particular, key things you can do to confidently give a potential client the guidance they need, without inadvertently coming across as pushy or manipulative. With these tips, you can help more clients to say “yes please!” to working with you – while still feeling totally authentic and aligned with your values.

Catherine Watkin is a sales expert who works with heart-centred business owners who are gifted at what they do but struggle in business because they feel awkward when it comes to selling their services. She teaches how to sell in a way that feels authentic and comfortable – and get great results. Catherine is a passionate role model for how it’s possible to create a profitable business without resorting to sleazy or manipulative sales techniques.

The People

These You Inspire Me community meet-ups bring together passion-led self-employed practitioners from the helping, healing and creativity realms, as well as other service businesses. You’re likely to meet coaches, yoga teachers, massage therapists, writers, translators, editors, permaculture teachers, doulas, nutritionists, homeopaths, reflexologists, raw foodies, personal trainers, dance teachers and many more.

Each meet-up is a refreshing opportunity to make new friendships and connections which may well also lead to referrals, paying clients, collaborations or mastermind groups.

People who are attracted to this event are likely to be on the same page as you: life-loving, passionate, inspired and inspirational.

The Networking

As the guest speaker session is 30 minutes, the majority of the event (two hours) remains devoted to your unbridled networking joy. As you’ll likely want to meet as many of the people in the room as possible and have proper conversations with them, we use the structure of speed networking – like speed dating! I co-ordinate this after the guest slot and we move at a relaxed pace; you’ll get to enjoy numerous authentic conversations with interesting new people.

The Food & Drink

Food and drink not included in the event price.

If you haven’t yet sampled Tibits’ culinary delights, you’re in for a treat.

You’re able to choose from a plentiful buffet of veggie delights, with lots of vegan, gluten-free and raw dishes. (The food’s always a hit with omnivores too!)

To tantalise your taste buds, typical menu items include: carrot and plum tagine, vegetable roast, pineapple coconut tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding. The unique quirk at Tibits is that food is on a pay-per-weight basis so you can pile your plate high or go as light as you like. (An average meal is £10.)
